I had the privilege of photographing my friend Sarah’s family 2 weeks ago. Before I share her gorgeous familia with you, meet Sarah.

She’s my sweet friend who happens to be a photographer as well. We drove home from a photo workshop in Arizona earlier this year and talked the whole 8 hour ride home! I love it when you find someone who is as passionate as you are about so many things.

But do you know how hard it is to photograph your peers? Oh my, a bit nerve wracking! …and yet so worth it! Isn’t she gorgeous?? Seriously! Sorry to embarrass you dear, but your hubby will agree with me {wink}.

Yes, I know, I’ve been absent from here. With sessions, summer, and preparing for school…just so much all at once. I have never been a mom of a high schooler before, and this is all new territory for me. Do you know how many checks I wrote during our freshman orientation/registration day? Oh my!! Then my youngest will start middle school Monday…farewell to elementary and all those sweet filled days! I don’t know about other moms, but I am missing Kindergarten and Mrs. Innes right about now…

Here’s the first of many sneak peeks…Can you say “Hello Gorgeous?” Her personality really is all that you see ~ she’s just pure sweetness with a sprinkle of spunk!

I have so many thoughts running around in my head of what I could say about this family. I crack myself up right now about how emotional I am about this. I’ve already stated earlier that they are A.MA.ZING. Why though am I so affected?

I’ve had the privilege of photographing this family since the oldest was born. I think this is our 5th or 6th time. He is now 13. Every time I am in awe of how the love and laughter just flows out; how they dance with such ease as a family. They move as one unit; there’s an unspoken trust. A genuineness. Truth.

I love what I get to do; what I am so privy to witness. Thank you, as always.

I have drooled over this for a year now, and was finally able to get it! There were many colors to choose from, but I fell in love the richness of Aubergine {and it looks great in my bedroom}!

So who wants to sit and lounge on it? I will be doing one afternoon of mini-sessions for Christmas at a local park in October. This is especially PERFECT for those who want to update their family picture, but don’t need a full session or for those just wanting to send out a super fun Christmas card! I will let you know the exact date soon…

{Oh, and Yorkie will not be coming ~ she’s very temperamental!}

Color. Think layers, patterns, textures, hats, and accessories. I have always been a clean lines gal, but have changed over this year. Color breathes life…don’t be afraid to mix it up!

{christmas sessions}

Christmas is coming, and honestly, I’ve no desire to think about the 25th right now. Gift giving, parties, decorating? Oh my!

However, I am looking over my calender…I have 7 openings left for the rest of the year. I can’t believe it ~ I am so blessed by all my wonderful clients who keep coming back!

If you are planning on sending out Christmas cards or giving gift prints, now is the time to book for September and October. August is now full. I always feel bad when I get calls and I have to tell them I can’t because there is no space left. {Of course, you could guilt me into if you call on the right day too!!}

So email me soon to pick your date. Hope you are finding ways to stay cool!
