Mamapreneur. Definition: a mom who has started her own business so she can be home with her family more.
I am thrilled to introduce: not a dessert {finally}!! Though they have all been yummy! This month I interviewed Lisa of Lisa Leonard Designs {click here}. This business is top notch with excellent customer service and a product worth it’s easy cost. It is beautiful hand-cut, hammered, antiqued and polished sterling silver jewelry. Each piece is a work of art and comes directly from Lisa’s own daily inspiration. I adore this product line {yes, I am gushing}!!
There’s an added nugget here…Lisa also writes a blog that is both affecting and motivating…a definite read on a regular basis. Go see Lisa’s fabulous jewelry at: www.lisaleonardonline.com or (805) 305-3158

10 questions in 10 words or less {uh, sometimes}:
1. Explain your product: We make hand-stamped, sterling silver jewlery.
2. What makes your business/product unique? It’s customized with your kid’s names, a special phrase or date. Also, we are always coming up with new and unique designs that are different than anything else out there.
3. How do you juggle being a woman, wife, mother & business owner? This is a constant balancing act, and I definitely don’t have it all figured out. I try to set hours for work and stick to them. Sometimes, we just have to get out of the house and go to the beach and play; get away from the computer! My husband and kids are my first priority, and I try to keep that in mind everyday.
4. Anything in the works we can look forward to? Oh, we have some seriously fun new stuff coming out in the next few weeks! I can’t tell specifics, but it’s so exciting!
5. Where do you get your inspiration? Sometimes inspiration hits unexpectedly. Usually, it’s the everyday things that inspire. For example, we recently came out with a laundry line necklace, and it was literally inspired by a laundry line I saw where you could see mommy’s clothes, daddy’s shorts, baby’s onesies, etc. I love how the family was represented on the laundry line.
6. How many children do you have and what are their ages? I have two boys, David (7) and Matthias (5).
7. Favorite childhood memory? The first things that comes to mind is summer afternoons swimming in our above ground pool, laying out on the hot cement, and picking plums from the tree; just being kids.
8. Favorite piece of clothing? Definitely my ‘big star’ jeans; I wear them a few times a week.
9. Favorite vacation spot? Hands down: Carpinteria, California. It’s a darling town outside of Santa Barbara. I love the beach, the restaurants and the darling shops. It’s our family get-away.
10. What makes you smile? Hot coffee in the morning, the sun through the window, Matty in his superhero cape & boots, David tapping out a tune on the keyboard, a dress with boots.
Bonus: We must know…what is your favorite piece of jewelry? My favorite piece right now is the ‘fly free’ necklace. I love the little scallops around the edge, and the meaning behind the piece.
